The Waterbender: La Madonna

La Madonna: Mother of all beings. She is the boundless source of interconnected love and warmth. Unconditional acceptance and loving kindness. Embodiment of the ocean of compassion. The flowing blissfulness of our fundamental nature.

This painting was conceived during my time with the Luminous Awareness Institute in the late spring of 2022 - among the company of 120+ participants and teachers. The artwork exemplifies the theme of the “Waterbender”, as viewed through the lens of LAI. It was completed in the following weeks in my Colorado studio.

The face of the madonna was inspired by the gorgeous work of Bouguereau in his 1881 painting “Song of the Angels”.
