Midsummer Dream

Born from a little pen and ink sketch I’d drawn for the fun of it, and with no intention of it ever become a painting.

This artwork mixed the free-form creativity of my ink work with the richness of color and texture that oil painting gives, creating something that was a fresh-first for me.

It was painted in the heat of these past summer months of 2022, in which I feel I have been shaped and reshaped many times over, my identity feeling more like a malleable unfolding than a fixed thing.
